The Hebrew Roots of Christianity

Though the Bible does make it clear concerning festivals and feast. If it is right to someone let it be right to them. Now the Passover though, is something Jesus told us to Keep. I must also add, though many call upon the name of Jesus, I assure you, He reads your heart, and knows who it is that you are truely seeking. I find His true name, Yahushua, and Gods name,Yahweh, Are beautiful names and flow ever so comfortably from my lips. And I am convinced, that knowing the history of the change, and who it was that brought the change on. And knowing the history of those who changed it. Fore these were those that Jesus rebuked. I can come to no other logical conclusion than, to step back to our Hebrew roots, is neither wrong, or non-Biblical. May His Angels be with you, and His Grace never leave you. Tim

Christianity Starts with a Sermon

Church is what happens when the Bible is preached, the Holy Spirit comes, and people are connected to Jesus. The result is a bunch of people called Christians who are on mission together as the family of God, the church. Paul’s sermon in Acts 2 begins literally with Jesus. It starts and ends with, is all and only and always about Jesus—and he will be proclaimed, by the grace of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, at Mars Hill Church forever. This clip is excerpted from the sermon “Jesus Gives Life,” part 1 of our new summer sermon series, Jesus Loves His Church. It was preached by Pastor Mark Driscoll out of Acts 1:1–11 and 2:22–41 at Mars Hill Downtown Bellevue and released online on June 24. This is video I made to show the truth about Christianity. That its a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and having heaven flow through you. Denying your life and doing what Christ did on earth. Living as a son and not TRYING to be a Christian.(Also you’ll notice that there is a typo in the video. It says person relationship I meant to say personal relationship :)

Intro to Personal Development

“Try to become not a person of success, but try rather to become a man of value.”

—Albert Einstein

The two approaches to personal development are: Secular, which is a self-help type; this is a legitimized approach in that it helps folks to become better human beings and live more successful and meaningful lives. There is also Christian personal development that revolves around having a relationship with The Lord God and thru his indwelling Holy Spirit we are changed into his image, manufacturing what the Bible alludes to as the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith meekness and temperance. (Galatians 5:16)

One thing true for both of the above approaches is what Carl Rogers wrote: “The curious enigma is that when I accept myself just as I am then I will change.” Before any change can happen there has to be an acceptance of ourselves right where we are and then we will be able to begin the process of change. Accepting ourselves where we are is not a pass card to remain there, but it acknowledges a beginning place for improvement.

The primary difference between the 2 approaches is that Christian personal development stress man’s spiritual connection with Our Lord God together with God’s transforming work in man’s spirit while the temporal emphasises man’s effort to boost himself. Both approaches recognise spirituality as an important part of it, but have different definitions as to its meaning.

Spirituality is not to be confused with Spiritualism, but makes reference to that which is beside the point or unseen. It is through the spirit that a person is able to come in communication with the essence of their deepest being or with their deepest values and meanings. Getting in touch with and growing the spiritual side or inner self is the objective.

The science of today recognizes the spiritual side of man, although it does not make a connection with a higher Deity or God. The modern day society as a whole also recognizes non secular fact but has different applications as how to utilize it for the better. So there’s a Devine application to spirituality as well as a temporal one. Spirituality is commonly recognized as an inner force to be dealt with and is said to have a direct bearing on how we live our lives.

Earthly definition of spirituality:

“Secular spirituality emphasizes humanistic qualities such as love, compassion, patience, tolerance, forgiveness, happiness, responsibility, harmony, and a concern for others, sides of life and human experience which go past a purely materialist view of the planet, without necessarily accepting belief in a supernatural reality or divine being. Religious practices like mindfulness and meditation can be experienced as advantageous or maybe necessary for human accomplishment without any mystical interpretation or reason. Spirituality in this context might be a matter of nurturing thoughts, emotions, words and actions that are in step with an idea that everything in the universe is jointly dependent” A modern mundane definition is as follows:

“Spirituality exists wherever we battle with the problems of how our lives fit into the greater blueprint. This is true when our questions never give way to categorical answers or lead to categorical practices like prayer or meditation. We encounter non secular issues every time we wonder where the universe comes from, why we are here, or what happens when we die. We also become spiritual when we become moved by values like beauty, love, or creativeness that appear to reveal a meaning or power beyond our visible world. A concept or practice is “spiritual” when it reveals our personal need to build a felt-relationship with the deepest meanings or powers ruling life.” (Definitions from Wikipedia Encyclopedia)

Divine definition of spirituality:

The Divine definition of spirituality, while embracing some of the same qualities as mundane humanism, such as love, compassion, patience, tolerance, compassion, contentment, responsibility, harmony, and a worry for others, goes further and is based on the grounds in the Bible of the decline of man that happened when Eve ate of the prohibited fruit in Genesis 3:6the result was sin entered the world and also death as the results of sin. Death not only included physical death but also spiritual death. Death is defined as a separation. Physical death is a separation of the spirit from the body while spiritual. Death is a separation of man’s spirit from the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit.

So in order to realize the full benefits of Christian growth and God’s promises of the Bible for eternal life, joy, peace, contentment and purpose in this life, it’s required to have a new connection with Almighty God which leads to having the indwelling of his Holy Spirit, which resides within our spirit.

God through the Holy Spirit then directs all of life thru sanctification, which is setting man aside from the general activities of sin and the flesh and repositioning him in the activities of the Devine nature of the Holy Spirit which is Love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, temperance and meekness (Galatians 5:16-22). It no longer becomes an act of reforming our ways but it is permitting the Holy Spirit to provide his ways in us. Then our help comes from God and not a self-help kind of growth as taught by Tony Robins as well as the AAA and most personal growth internet sites on the Internet.

I certainly don’t mean to belittle the good work that Tony Robbins, the AAA and secular personal improvement does. It is true that folk can become better human beings thru self-help. What I say is, Christian private growth places the focus on God’s indwelling Spirit and his work of change rather than our self effort, which of course is far better than nothing at all, but misses the stamp of what God can do.

The 1st responsibility of anyone who desires Christian personal development is to find out how to have a relationship with Our Lord God.

No effort put into your private improvement is wasted, if it is a temporal approach or Devine approach. The difference it makes in the standard of life can’t be denied and indeed am able to decide the amount of success, purpose and contentment in life.

How to Forgive Yourself and Feel Set Free

People continually think that it needs a lot of tricky work or that it is hard to forgive. Fundamentally it is way easier than you’ll think to forgive anbother person. There’s also a pleasure to forgiving that arrives once we have surrendered our life to God. The act of forgiveness releases the obligations of our heart to a larger power, freeing us to have a heart of joy and excitement. Discovering how to frogive yourself is a step toward a life of liberty.

I was told the other day that God does not forget our sins once we ask for forgiveness. That is in contrast to what His word declares.

For I’ll forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more. Hebrews 8:12

For us, there is a difference between forgiving ourselves and forgetting the incorrect we have done. God can remove your sin from His mind; we do not have the same capability. The sin we committed may linger in our minds and there could be lasting implications from our acts of disobedience. Yet God tells us we are forgiven and our sins are so far as east is from west.

So far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our sins from us. Psalm 103:12

Does God’s forgiveness have anything to do with the solemnness of our deeds? No, God doesn’t put any qualifiers like, this sin or that sin requires something additional because of the severity of the wrong.

Are you able to live the life God desires for you if you don't forgive yourself? How frequently will you beat yourself up or let your heart be encumbered with the sin in your life. When God’s word tells us to admit our sins it carries no qualifiers, it simply states we are forgiven and purified.

If we confess our sins, he is trustworthy and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

Is forgiving ourselves really easy? Yes, it is if you realize the difficult work was borne by Jesus at the cross. It would not be correct to say forgiveness came at a small price. I'm able to forgive, myself and others and forgive promptly, because Jesus death on the cross. He suffered a horrible death and for 6 hours He was totally separated from His Father so I may have forgiveness of my sins. What would that say about the cost of His sacrifice if I did not want to forgive myself? An additional piece on forgivng.
