Discovering How To Forgive Someone

There is a liberty outside your wildest imagination when you fpardon someone for the hurt and pain they caused against you. It lets go so much pent up hurt, frustration, strain and much more. Each one of us has encountered the bondage of unforgiveness in our own lives. If you haven’t experienced the joy of forgiveness I ask you to forgive a person which has committed a wrong against you.

It’s irrelevant if they have asked for pardon or not; you are still able to forgive them. You see, it actually has zilch to do with that individual. This act of forgiveness is between you and God. Now, there’s a reason we will be able to pardon someone that caused us harm and may not have asked for our forgiveness. It’s your Heavenly Father sending His Son to earth to die a terrible death on a cross. Due to His dying we not only have our own sin forgiven but we will be able to give forgiveness to others. Let me share a a few verses with you from the book of Matthew that many people have trouble understanding.

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also pardon you. But if you don’t pardon others their sins, your Heavenly Father will not forgive your sins.

Matthew 6:14-15

God’s words are extraordinarily straight forward, He needs us to pardon others their sins in order to be, ourselves, forgiven. Some people fight this verse and think it is capricious. I can tell you from experience this verse is very freeing. I just excused somebody even though they had not requested forgiveness and they don’t know I have forgiven them. This forgiveness was simply between God and me; it had nothing to do with the other person. It is somebody I care for much and one day they may know I pardoned them without their request. How did it free me? It enables me to love them in a way that respects God, it dumps “you did this or you probably did that to me” and it frees my heart from the weight of their sin. Studying about forgiving otherswill give you a have unknown.
