The Only Worldview That Promises Hope

We’ve all got a worldview. Worldviews are formed by presuppositions, upbringing, culture, education, media, films and even video console games. Worldviews are not always formed purposely; they might be soaked up by osmosis from the culture around us. Many would lack the ability to defend what they think concerning the meaning and point of life; their worldview is a mesh mash of their experiences and the influences around them. From another standpoint, the Bible worldview is a learned and based primarily on what Scripture teaches, and is the only worldview that promises hope . It relies on these 7 truths:

- God exists (Heb. 11:6)
- The Bible is God?s divinely inspired Word (2 Tim. 3:16)
- God made everything that exists (Gen.1:1)
- God holds everything together (Col. 1:17)
- God came to earth and lived in the human body of Jesus Christ 2,000 years ago (Col. 1:19).
- In the Garden of Eden Mankind chose to rebel against God and due to that act of rebellion, sin and death entered the world (Rom. 5:12-14).
- Believing in Jesus Christ is the sole way to have eternal life or to be brought back together ?with Almighty God (John 3:15-19, 5:24), (Luke 8:21, John 3:20, John 14:21, 23-24), (Acts 4:10-12).

God Exists

Whether Gods exists or not in the mind of somebody is the base for every other propositions that compose a world view. If there is not any God in somebody’s mind, the random choice or natural selection theory of Darwin is the sole other alternative. Since natural selection gets rid of any higher authority with no one to be responsible to, then there are no absolutes, no morals, nor any wrong or right and nothing truly matters, so only incomprehensible and despair.

A Biblical world view relies on the proof that God is real, and the proof of his presence can be seen all around us:

- In the complexity of earth?s self sustaining design; perfect in every way to meets life?s wants with the perfect size and supporting functions of the moon.
- In the universe. The universe had to have a beginning. Who started it and who sustains it with an unwavering set of laws?
- In the human body: The DNA code informs, programs a cell’s behaviour with laws that are undeniable perfect.
- In his revelation within us: He pursues us and creates Devine information inside us of his existence. We are innately beings of worship, regardless of whether it is God we choose to worship.
- In his son: More than any alternative way God exposed himself thru his son Jesus Christ.

The Bible is God?s divinely galvanized Word to humankind

All scripture is given by inspiration of Almighty God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (2 Tim. 3:16)

In 1,000s of years the Bible still has to be proved wrong. Yes, there have been occasions when science or historians presented reasons which explain why the Bible could not be true scientifically or historically, but their reasons have been proved to be wrong in time. Below are a few articles that are on my otobefree.com website under the heading of Bible on the navagational bar that give the reasons why we all know the Bible is the word of God:

- Introduction
- Bible and Science
- Bible and Histor
- Bible and Prophecy
- Bible and Unity
- Bible and Power

God made all things

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Gen.1:1)

?For by him [Christ] all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, apparent and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Col. 1:17)

There are 2 hypotheses for creation: creationism as indicated by Gen 1:1 and Col. 1:17, and random selection. Both must be accepted by faith because there aren’t any human witnesses for either. There are 2 issues. With creationism there are many who won’t accept the concept of a. Supernatural being with omnipotent powers to form a universe and all that it contains. With evolution it is the problem of accepting something that goes against all reason or logic, but since it is the only alternative apart from accepting God, many say they accept it whether or not they actually do or not. With the modern day advances in science many scientists do not accept evolution, but neither do they accept creationism. I suspect you could say they are kind of in limbo.

Even when a scientific law, the second law of thermodynamics, which proves that things left to themselves do not improve but denigrate, folks still are of the opinion that things do improve through genetic mutations and develop from lower forms to higher forms. However , Science can’t explain how there are specific precise, incontrovertible laws which control everything in the universe, including the human body, when it might be simpler to expect random selection to also be randomly changing without any strict patterns.

God holds everything together

He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Col. 1:17)

We know that all mater is made of atoms. Atoms are made up of a nucleus and electrons that swirl around the nucleus at great speeds. Though ideas have been presented as regards what holds these atoms together, it’s a mystery.

Sir Isaac Newton was 24 years of age when he discovered that all bodies of matter possess a mutual attraction, what we call gravity that makes things fall downward rather than up. That also keeps us from flying off the earth which is spinning thru space at a speed of nearly 67,000 mph.

In Colossians 1:16-17 we are told that Christ is the gravity that holds things together, For by him [Christ] all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, apparent and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He’s before all things, and in him all things hold together.

It is reasonably fantastic that Christ is the power behind the universe which he made, and the power we call gravity, or whatever mystery it is, that holds things together!

God exposed himself to us when he came to earth as Jesus Christ

For God was happy to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace thru his blood, shed on the cross . (Colossians 1:19-20)

Sin and death entered the world because Humankind selected to rebel against God

Death Through Adam, Life Thru Christ:

Therefore , just as sin entered the world thru one man, and death thru sin, and in this manner death came to all folk, because all sinned.

To be absolutely certain, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone’s account where there’s no law. Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over people who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come . (Romans 5:12-14)

According to Scripture believing in Jesus Christ is the sole way to have eternal life or to have a relationship with God.

Neither is there deliverance in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved . (Acts 4:12)

Really truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. (John 5:24)

Jesus asserted, I’m the way, the truth, and the life, and no person cometh to the Father but by me. (John 14:6)

For with the heart man believeth unto goodness; and with the mouth confession is formed unto salvation. (Romans 10:10)

If you would like to kick off a relationship with Our Lord God now, your are able to.

The decision is solely yours. There is not any duress. But if you’ve got a desire to have a relationship with God and receive his forgiveness and guarantee of eternal life, you can do that at the moment today. Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door [of your heart] and knock. He who hears my voice and opens the door, I’ll come into him [or her]“ (Rev. 3:20). If this is your wish but do not know how to word your request, this may help:

“Jesus, I believe you died for my sins and rose from the grave. I would like to turn from my life of sin and receive your forgiveness. Please come into my life now and pardon me. Thank you for saving me. Amen.”

When God comes into a person?s life it is permanent. Jesus Christ expounded, “I know them, and they follow me; and I give them eternal life,. And they shall never perish, and nobody shall snatch them out of my hand.”

I’m so thankful and blessed by your decision to get Jesus. I want to help you in your new found relationship with him. Please click the link below to point out you have prayed the prayer above and I’ll send you some material which I think you will find to be really helpful1

I just prayed and asked Jesus into my life (Please send me some helpful information) …

Forgiveness: The healing Medication of the Soul

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how often shall I excuse my bro when he sins against me? Up to 7 times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times, (Matthew 18:21-22) . Jesus asserted by this answer that we should forgive as often as it is required. The reason the Bible speaks out on so many things that we should be careful to observe is that God in his love for us needed to give us instructions that were in our best interest. Actually forgiveness is one of those things as we shall see as we go forward in the work.

There’s been much discussion concerning the Rush Limbaugh statement that Sandra Fluke was slut and a whore. I can understand how these types of crude remarks would hurt her deeply. Nonetheless, her requirement not to ever excuse Limbaugh even after he apologizes 2 times is going to resume the hurt for her. It will not hurt Limbaugh who will at the end gain listeners and sell more books. She has had her 15 minutes of celebrity thanks to Limbaugh and now she will be able to retreat into a lifetime loathing of him or dismiss it and carry on.

Hanging on to acrimony and the need for vengeance is counter-productive—-better to embrace forgiveness and move on with your life.

Most every individual has been insulted and hurt by the horrible remarks of others, and frequently it is by someone close. We may accidentally accept that by returning hatred and being merciless is a technique to get back at them, but in truth it imprisons us; forgiveness frees us to keep on on in peace rather than in sourness and hate.

What is forgiveness?

Forgiveness is letting go of acrimony and thoughts of loathing and revenge. If we insist firmly on holding a grudge, we fall victim to letting another person be in charge of our emotions, whereas forgiveness places us in control and can even cause us to feel empathy and compassion for the person who sickened us, understanding they are wrestling with some deep Problems in their life.

Our forgiveness of another in no way alleviates that person of their accountability for their actions. They must answer to God who is the only one who can fairly bring justice and vengeance for unrighteous actions. And obviously if laws have been broken, it is a matter of law. Never is the horrible acts of others excused due to forgiveness; they indeed must pay the toll.

Does forgiving others have benefits?

While hanging on to resentment can have devastating effects, letting go of acrimony and having an attitude of forgiveness can lead to:

- A release of anxiety
- Lower stress levels
- Remove hostility
- Lower the blood pressure
- Enhance contentment and peace
- Create better relationships

How does un-forgiveness affect us?

It can impact your health by raising the blood pressure. It can sour your attitude and cause you to fail to enjoy life. You can become depressed and lose ground in your spiritual growth. You can start to believe that you do fall down short of the mark in the eyes of others. You can lose fellowship with those you would like to be buddies with over things that are actually irrelevant.

Forgiveness is the healing medicine of the soul . The soul is made of the mind will and feelings and hatred and un-forgiveness affects each of those 3 in a bad way, while forgiveness brings healing and produces a peace of mind; a strong and determined will to do that which is right; and calms the emotions and brings happiness.

How am I able to learn to excuse?

Forgiveness requires a change in approach from desiring to get even to want to decide issues and continue on with your life.

- Consider how crucial forgiveness is in your life to make your life better.
- Learn to weigh things and eliminate things according to their significance. Insignificant things are the things that frequently cause the best hang-ups.
- Make it a case of backbone to pardon others.
- Make forgiveness a matter of prayer, asking God to offer you the grace to be forgiving and having the ability to leave it in his hands to cause any needed justice.
- Never take on the victim approach. This is allowing somebody else to have command over you.

Forgiveness is the positive approach that outlines a life that’s in hand and not a prisoner of hate, while un-forgiveness is the opposite, living as a victim of others hatefulness, a captive. Of vengeance and suffering the loss of liberty and peace . “Forgiveness is to set a prisoner free, and to realise the captive was you.” Corrie Ten Boom

The Bible teaches us to forgive:

Bear with one another and forgive whatever grievances you will have against each other. Excuse as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:13

Don’t judge and you won’t be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Excuse, and you’ll be forgiven. Luke 6:37

For if you excuse men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also excuse you. But if you do not excuse men their sins, your Father won’t excuse your sins . Matthew 6:14-16

And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against any person, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may pardon you your sins.” Mark 11:25

Conclusion

For reasons aside from for our own benefit, we excuse out of obedience to the Lord. It is our choice; we must decide. When we do forgive, we discover that God had our welfare under consideration all the time. He wants us to be free from the consequences that un-forgiveness brings to our lives.

10 Reasons You Should Have a Religion

This manuscript is a reply to Steve Pavlina’s article,10 reasons you shouldn’t have a religion, posted on his website, Private development for smart folk.

I don’t like the term religion because the worship of Satan as well as each other kind of worship falls under the general heading of religion, but in order to identify with and reprove his article which includes believers in Jesus Christ, I?ll use the term religion. Steve calls folk like me or anybody in any religious system simpletons, hypocrites and Morons. He says and I quote, When you subscribe to an established religion, you have only 2 options. You can become an idiot, or you can become a hypocrite, and then he is saying, Congratulations! You’re a moron believer.

Here is the answer to Steve Pavlina’s 10 Reasons You Shouldn’t Have a Religion. It is apparent that Mr. Pavlina has had some bad experiences in the Catholic faith in which he was raised, but to say that all religion is for retards because of his limited experience is ridiculous. My experience is the complete opposite of Pavlina’s; I so give you 10 reasons you could have a religion based totally on not only my personal experience, but also on facts:

I do not think anyone would consider me a moron or fool . I graduated from a private college with a 15 approval ratio, now a university, at the very top of my class with an A- average and I'm a believer in Jesus. The Bible does say however that “The fool has said in his own heart that there is no God.”

I have got many reasons in believing in Jesus but I can only share 10 here:

1. Jesus is a real historical figure, not some made up legendary figure. There is more to substantiate his existence from extant history than there’s for Napoleon Bonaparte. All of the info about Jesus isn’t form the Bible alone or from those that believed in him; Josephus, a near modern of Jesus and a 1st century writer though reputedly a sceptic touches on Jesus:

The works of Origen (c. 182-251 CE) which have come down to us mention Josephus quoting Jesus Christ twice. It is worth referencing both passages in full:

Flavius Josephus, who wrote the “Antiquities of the Jews” in twenty books, when wanting to exhibit the cause why the people suffered so great reversals that even the Temple was razed to the ground, expounded, that these things happened to them as per the wrathfulness of God in result of the things which they’d dared to do against James the bro of Jesus who is known as Christ. And the excellent thing is that, though he did not accept Jesus as Christ, he yet gave testimony the righteousness of James was so great; and he asserts that the folk thought they had suffered these things because of James. (On The Gospel of Matthew, 1:15)

For in the 18th book of his Antiquities of the Jews, Josephus bears witness to John as having been a Baptist, and as promising purification to those that underwent the rite. Now this writer, although not believing in Jesus as the Christ, in looking for after the root of the fall of Jerusalem and the elimination of the temple, whereas he should have claimed the conspiracy against Jesus was the root of these calamities befalling the people, since they put to death Christ, who was a prophet, claims nevertheless-being, although against his will, not far away from the truth-that these catastrophes occurred to the Jews as a punishment for the passing of James the Just, who was a bro of Jesus (called Christ),-the Jews having put him to death, though he used to be a man most distinguished for his justice. Paul, a real disciple of Jesus, asserts that he regarded this James as a brother of the Lord, not so much on account of their relationship by blood, or of their being brought up together, as because of his virtue and doctrine. (Origen, Against Celsus, 1:47)

Jesus walked on this earth and had disciples who followed him and served him. At his crucifixion all his disciples but the Apostle John deserted him in fear. The Apostle Peter betrayed him 3 times by swearing saying he didn’t even know him.

After the resurrection of Jesus when his disciples saw him and conversed with him, their approach changed. No. Longer did fear rule them; they stood forcibly in their belief and all but the apostle John, who stood with Jesus till the end, were martyred for their belief. John was exiled to a forsaken island to live out the rest of his life. What fools they would have been if Jesus was merely a made up legendary personality or if in fact he didn’t rise from the tomb.

2. The Bible is the true word of God and has never been proved otherwise. It’s my practice to read the Bible through annually and I know the Bible well and have not seen anywhere it’s full of discrepancies or falsehood. It really is a book of knowledge and has the answers for each need we have. To discredit it or reject its teachings is, in my opinion, true ignorance. Click here for six articles that establish the authenticity of Scripture:

3. The change that it has made in the lives of those I have known . Just last year I met a person in Florida whose name is John and John had spent 23 years of his life in a Fed. penitentiary for first degree murder. John by his very own word was a gangster. His life was stuffed with violence and criminal activity.

John met Jesus the savior while in jail and was paroled after 23 years and for years now he has served the Lord. He is a deacon in his church. He is concerned in helping other prisoner’s transition into civilian life after prison. He is one of the best folks I know .

Another man I have known for many years was in a rock ‘n roll band and a drug abuser . Jesus helped him to modify his life and now he is a volunteer missionary. He volunteers his time without pay to go on mission trips. This week on Thursday he left for the Philippians and from there he’s going to be going to Mongolia and then on to China. Space and time will not permit me to tell you all the stories I know about lives that have been modified by Jesus.

4. Smart people trust in Jesus. I did a study of the presidents of the US from Wikipedia, and plenty of our presidents had roots in the Christian faith. Now I do not believe that Steve Pavlina or anyone else can say that our presidents have been fools and idiots because they believed in Jesus. The person who made such a statement would seem to be the idiot.

I wouldn’t reject the fact that many have disgraced the name of Christianity; there were many, and not just from the Catholic church, but from many denominations. Even among the disciples of our Lord there had been Judas who betrayed the Master for 30 pieces of silver.

Folks from all walks of life have proved themselves to be untrustworthy and deceitful and that includes the religious world also.

5. There is not any better means of true personal development than when somebody is right with God spiritually. I have known many who never heard about Steve Pavlina who are developed to a point so far advanced to what human teaching could have ever taken them. To know these sorts of people and to experience their kindness and love for others and to call them idiots is the greatest possible contradiction of terms.

6. To understand Jesus is to grasp the truth , quite the opposite of what Mr. Pavlina believes. Jesus said, Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.

Living in a whole world of sin, separate from the love of Christ is bondage. I do not need try and convince you of this, just read your morning paper or watch the 10 o’clock stories and see in person. We are living in a world full of hate with people in bondage to drugs, sex, evil offences and perversion to name a few. Knowing Jesus and worshiping him is the best management of time. The time I have spent in studying the 7, which is the start and closing of each day , has been one of the most constructive things I’ve ever done. It starts my day on a positive note particularly when I add to that a time of prayer and meditation, which I mostly do. The time when I?ve been in a public worship service and have been lifted up by the teaching of the Bible is the most valuable hours I ever spend. There are a large amount of paths to waste valuable time but our presence with our Lord in worship, Bible study and prayer is not one of them. Bible. The faithful Christian friends I have made, who are the greatest people in all the world, is yet another reason I am thankful to grasp Jesus as my savior.

I am probably a member of an organization called Campers on Mission who volunteer their time to work for free to do mend on children’s homes, orphanages as well as for folks who can not afford to do repairs themselves. I have yet to meet one of these folks that I did not like. Their attitude and gratitude for life is astounding compared with the general public. To call these good people simpletons is inhuman and. Shameful.

8. Knowing Jesus is liberty from fear.

That verse from the 92rd Psalm, Yea though I walk thru the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no malicious because thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff they comfort me is a great comfort to the soul. I find great solace in realizing that Jesus is with me and he has comforted me when I walked thru the valley of the shade of death with my dear wife which was my best mate. He was there and he furnished the grace I wished to continue on. I think it is Mr. Pavlina and those who he has erroneously misled thru his papers who have something to fear. When it is time to die and stand before the creator of the Universe, what are you able to then say when he asked you, why wouldn’t you believe when you had each opportunity? 31

I am glad I know Jesus thanks to the dramatic difference it has made in my own life. You know, you can not know how others feel or what they experience but you can know your own heart. No, Mr. Pavlina can not know my heart; he only can know his own experiences in the Catholic Church which I gather have been extraordinarily bad according to what he says. I, on the other hand, know my experiences, and I haven’t felt any of the negative things listed in his article concerning fear, being make to concur with any set of rules or becoming submissively compliant to false teaching and dogma, or feeling I have wasted my time and so on. Quite to the contrary, I have felt loved, educated, edified, blessed and nourished. There’s no doubt that Steve is a really informed person. But to put it into some kind of perspective, his knowledge, like anybody else, is really limited. What I’m indicating is that I wonder if Mr. Pavlina has ever considered that among all of the knowledge he doesn’t have, that there just might be the awareness of having a

significant relationship with 0 . Is a person solely to rely on their own negative experience or their own limited information and let it dictate to them what to believe? Wisdom would let us know to go outside our own limited information looking for truth lest we be cheated by our own ignorance.I would like to give credit where credit is due. Steve Pavlina is indeed a gifted writer who without doubt has helped a large number of individuals in private development. I’m in agreement with most of what he writes, and I have no unwell will toward him. I’m grateful that we reside in the great country of America where he as well as I can express our Gods unreservedly without fear. My one regret is that he isn’t able to see past his bad experiences in belief growing up and has led many others into error because of it.

If You Were To Die Today, Where Would You Spend Forever?

Created by Jimmie Burroughs

This query appeared on the 1st page of Google, and some fellow was announcing that he saw it on a huge road sign on the side of I-86 in North Carolina and he finished his statement with the “Laugh Out Loud” LOL symbol. He posted it to see what answers he would get from that very same question on Yahoo Answers. I checked out the answers given by different folk, and out of 25 only 5 gave the proper answer. It is amazing how few really understand something as vital as their eternal destiny.

On Yahoo’s best answer 85% voted this as the best answer:” Same place that I have always been .” Hence that the best answer to “If you were to die today, where would you spend eternity?” Since when does any person ever stay where they have frequently been in any sense of the word? Life is ever-changing and no one remains in the same place.

Here are some other answers that were given:

“It does not seem fair or right for me that in 80 years we are going to be judged and sentenced to an eternity of hell or sublime rejoicing. It doesn’t even seem fair. It’s truthfully despicable, but that is just me.”

“I know that I have sinned during the past and that I haven’t been perfect, but who is. The sole good thing about my life and the true reason that explains why I deserve to be in heaven is actually because I always had faith and was true to my word. I am only being who you made me to be god. You didn’t make me perfect or anyone else, why punish me for someone you did not make me to be. I need to be in heaven with my savior, you are my savior.”

“After you die dear, you do not go anywhere. Life is over and that’s it. Your fairy story is pleasant though. I do prefer to fly to Treasure Island with Peter Pan, if that’s OK with you of course.”

If we stopped people at streetlevel and asked them the same query, “If you were to die today where would you spend eternity?” We’d have many various answers and many would think that they were alright and must do nothing. What we think does not actually matter unless it is based on what the Bible says. So what does the Bible say the solution to that question is? It asserts that it is going to be either heaven or hell and it’s up to every individual to decide which. The Bible announces, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23. It also says, “For the wages of sin is death.” Romans 6:23.

It is hard to believe that any person would reject that they have sinned. Nonetheless many would query why that they would be cast into hell due to their sin. The same ones would expect someone who breaks the law, whether it was breaking speed laws or taking somebody’s life, to get arrested and needed to pay the penalty. When we sin, we have broken God’s law and the penalty is death. Not just physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God.

Being separated from God in this life may not appear to be so bad to most since they have all their things as well as buddies and relatives. But after depth it takes on an entirely new meaning. It implies to be totally alone, separated from God’s love, joy, peace, friends and family and friends and everything for all eternity without end. Whatever else hell may be , the idea of being totally alone in darkness forever is beyond comprehension.

It doesn’t need to be that way, for the same verse that claims that “the wages of sin is death” also claims “but the gift of God is eternal life.” Romans 6:23.

Forgiveness and boundless life is as straightforward as A, B, C:

Admit you are a sinner: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

Believe in Jesus as your savior: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth on him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

Confess Jesus as your savior: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt trust in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thy shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto goodness. And with the mouth confession is made unto salvationFor whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

It is clear from those scriptures that the sole way you can be sure of going to 1 is by having faith in in 0 Christ. To trust in : includes a eagerness to repent, or turn from a life of sin and to follow 9 in a new lifestyle. When we come to terms with that in our heart, all that is left is to confess that with our mouth according to the scripture. You can do that by telling the Lord in prayer what you believe in your heart and what your motives are.

Here’s a sample of what you can say, “Lord 1 I Know I’ve sinned; I turn from my sins and turn to you for 3. I believe that you died for me and rose from the grave and I would like to follow you for the remainder of my life. Thanks for saving me”

If you have trusted in your heart the book of Christ, that he died for your sins and rose from the grave and you have repented of your sins, according to his word he has saved you.

If you made that call today, please go here and receive some free important follow up information to help understand more about your new life in Christ.

7 Methods to Enhance Your Happiness Beginning NOW

I just took the” true happiness test “ and my grade was A+. The test unearths puny areas that need improving as well as the strong areas which make a person happy.

About My Grade:

“You scored high in both remembered and experienced happiness. You feel competent, independent, and have good relationships with friends — all main factors to your happiness. Your positive approach reflects your want and ability to flourish on a daily basis. Continue to support your healthy self-image by making enhancements to your home and spending time on activities that truly interest you.” From bluezones

It left out the real reason nevertheless , which is God’s presence in my life. I knew I used to be a pretty happy guy, but failed to know I might score that high. After I took the test, I commenced to attempt to appraise why I’m satisfied. I have some things in my life, as well as others, that could pull me down, but I have a tendency to focus on the great things, and I think the 7 tactics to improve your happiness now, mentioned below, are all necessary so as to be satisfied.

7 tactics to improve your happiness beginning now These are based on my own experience; I hope you find them helpful:

1. Improve your finances

2. Enhance your health

3. Improve relations

4. Do more things that you like

5. Go to new places and meet new people

6. Get a pet

7. Develop your spiritual life

Enhance your finances:

It is extremely important to your happiness to have your financials in order. Some buy things thinking they are going to make them happy, and basically occasionally it takes away from their happiness. When you have to struggle to pay for all the things you have bought, and are constantly living on the monetary edge, it is hard to have much happiness.

If you’re young particularly, it’s so important to learn finances and make some wise financial choices. These are some things that I suggest that you start to do now: Pay off your bills beginning with the smallest. As fast as you pay off a bill, take the amount you are paying on it and clear the next one till you are paid off. In the in the meantime, avoid the temptation to buy anything else.

The difference in how folk with money spend their money contrasted with folks who don’t is that folks with cash buy assets, while folks who don’t have money buy un-needed junk that often winds up in a garage sale.

Be wise in how you spend your cash; live below your means in order to save. Remember, it’s not how much you earn but how well you manage what you earn. It isn’t a matter of reducing the standard of your life either, but a matter of better managing your spending and saving.

There are a large amount of highly paid folk who live from payslip to paycheck. They have never learned how to manage money either. I read latterly that a famous picture star’s home in Florida is in foreclosure; he was the top box office draw for years and made millions. He is not the sole celebrity who is in trouble financially; there are many others. So once more, it is not how much you earn as it is how you manage what you earn.

A famous entrepreneur on the Internet was talking recently about his surprise when his mum told him she was retiring with over a million greenbacks from her job as the church secretary. Church secretary doesn’t pay that much but allegedly she knew ways to manage cash.

Take time to evaluate your finances, and make some plans concerning how to get them under control and be certain to start to save for retirement unless you plan to work till you drop over dead.

Enhance your health:

It is tricky to be satisfied if you are suffering from poor health. Folks with poor health typically suffer with lots of pain or restrictions. I was sitting on a park bench today at the beach on a stunning warm day in Florida, when a person and his better half came along. They paused to ask about my dog. We talked for some time and I noticed he had a respiring problem. Before long he took out a cig pack and lit up. He did not smoke the whole ciggie; he punctiliously put it out and then replaced the remainder back into the package for later on. It continues to amaze me how some knowingly destroy their health. I had two mates who had lung cancer and continued to smoke right up until they died. I haven’t smoked,. So I don’t know what it is like, but I frequently wonder what it is about a fag that’s more vital than health or even life for a case of fact.

Habits that include health hazards are not worth it. Your wellbeing is a crucial ingredient to happiness. Here’s the thing: It is just as easy to maintain good health as it is to tear your wellbeing down with unacceptable habits, bad eating and lack of exercise. You may have good health by changing a couple of things about your way of life and by doing just a little every day to maintain it. It’s correct that we don’t have complete control over our health, but we do have lots of control over it.

Improve relationships:

The first sentence above of the evaluation of my happiness test says: “You scored high in both recalled and experienced happiness. You're feeling competent, independent, and have good relations with mates “all main factors to your happiness.”

If there's one thing in life that is more critical than all of the rest as far as happiness, it would be relationships. It doesn’t matter what you have, if you have no one to enjoy life with, it is trivial. Some individuals mess off all of their friends and wind up alone, disgruntle and sad. Relations like most anything else need upkeep and care to grow and to survive. The best rough guide when it comes to improving relationships is the golden rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

Do more things that you enjoy:

I could add to the above,” and less of the things you don’t enjoy .” For years I was in a situation that needed regular conferences. If those meeting had been required and had purpose, it would be different but for the main part they were never; so I developed a hatred concerning conferences and till this day I avoid them; I hate them. I am at the point today where I’ll choose the things I do , and so I do very few things that I just don’t enjoy.

One of the good things about having a robust finance state is the facility to do more of the things you enjoy in life. I enjoy travel, so I’ve traveled in 49 states and a number of other nations. You can’t do this if you do not get on top of your financials when you’re young.

Go to new places and meet new people:

One of the things I am hoping to do in late 2012 is to take a trip to China for a year and teach English in a school. I would be teaching about 400 Chinese scholars. While this isn’t yet for certain, I am hoping it works out. That to me is something completely different from anything I’ve done before, and the idea of meeting that many new, young people and in another country, is so much fun.

But it does not have to be something as drastic as that; it can be going to new places in your own community and meeting new folks and making new pals.

Get a pet:

Pardon me for using so many private examples in this post however it is founded upon my own experiences of things that have added happiness to my life, so I suppose if that is the case it’s alright.

Having a pet is so necessary to me. I have owned pets all though my life, both dogs and cats, though I like dogs. All my pets have been outside pets until the present one. I currently have a West Highland Terrier, known as “Westy”, who is an insider dog.

How I came about him is a gloomy tale. My spouse always wanted a Westy, but since I never liked to have an insider dog, we never got one, that is until she got sick with cancer and then I agreed to get one. She acquired him when he was two months old and he was so small that she regularly carried him in a large purse with just his head sticking out.

The sad part is that she died 11 months after getting the dog. He was completely her dog until she died and then he turned to me and has been at my side for over six years now. He has been such a help to me during the mourning period, and to this day he’s cheerful just being where I am. I might hate worst than anything to be without him; he adds so much happiness to my life. I travel in a motor home, and together he and I’ve been in 37 states. It is a undisputed fact that folk with dogs are merrier and also live for longer.

Develop your spiritual life:

More than anything else in my life, the spiritual connection I have had with God has given me happiness, happiness and purpose. Even thru the tricky times of my life, and perhaps especially during those times, God’s presence has brought me through. I can’t imagine going thru life alone without God.

I can remember years ago reading a poem which has stuck with me. I found it on the Web. The original author isn’t known. This copy is offered by Margaret Fishback Powers.

I Had a Dream

One night I had a dream

I was taking a walk along the beach with my Lord.

. Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.

For each scene I spotted two sets

of footprints in the sand,

one belonging to me

and the other to my Lord.

When the last scene of my life shot before me

I looked back at the footprints in the sand.

There was just one set of footprints.

I spotted that this was at the lowest

and saddest times in my life.

This always worried me

and I criticized the Lord

about my quandary.

“Lord, you told me when I made up my mind to follow You,

You would walk and talk with me all the way.

But I am conscious of the fact that during the most annoying

times of my life there’s only one set of footprints.

I don’t understand why, when I needed You most,

you leave me.”

He murmured, “My dear, valuable kid,

I adore you and will never leave you

never, ever during your times of trial and testings.

When you saw only 1 set of footprints

It was then that I carried you.”

Conclusion:

It’s a good thing to go thru life with a measure of happiness, but happiness is not the most important thing. My aim in life isn’t centered entirely on maintaining a state of happiness but rather on satisfying purpose. I know what my gifts are and I know what my purpose is, so I’m concerned in that. Happiness looks to be kind of an after effect. One thing I am sure of, and that is my happiness is more dependent upon my spiritual relationship with God than any other thing. When your relationship with God comes first, it is far easier to experience a continued state of happiness.

Intro to Personal Development

“Try to become not a person of success, but try rather to become a man of value.”

—Albert Einstein

The two approaches to personal development are: Secular, which is a self-help type; this is a legitimized approach in that it helps folks to become better human beings and live more successful and meaningful lives. There is also Christian personal development that revolves around having a relationship with The Lord God and thru his indwelling Holy Spirit we are changed into his image, manufacturing what the Bible alludes to as the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith meekness and temperance. (Galatians 5:16)

One thing true for both of the above approaches is what Carl Rogers wrote: “The curious enigma is that when I accept myself just as I am then I will change.” Before any change can happen there has to be an acceptance of ourselves right where we are and then we will be able to begin the process of change. Accepting ourselves where we are is not a pass card to remain there, but it acknowledges a beginning place for improvement.

The primary difference between the 2 approaches is that Christian personal development stress man’s spiritual connection with Our Lord God together with God’s transforming work in man’s spirit while the temporal emphasises man’s effort to boost himself. Both approaches recognise spirituality as an important part of it, but have different definitions as to its meaning.

Spirituality is not to be confused with Spiritualism, but makes reference to that which is beside the point or unseen. It is through the spirit that a person is able to come in communication with the essence of their deepest being or with their deepest values and meanings. Getting in touch with and growing the spiritual side or inner self is the objective.

The science of today recognizes the spiritual side of man, although it does not make a connection with a higher Deity or God. The modern day society as a whole also recognizes non secular fact but has different applications as how to utilize it for the better. So there’s a Devine application to spirituality as well as a temporal one. Spirituality is commonly recognized as an inner force to be dealt with and is said to have a direct bearing on how we live our lives.

Earthly definition of spirituality:

“Secular spirituality emphasizes humanistic qualities such as love, compassion, patience, tolerance, forgiveness, happiness, responsibility, harmony, and a concern for others, sides of life and human experience which go past a purely materialist view of the planet, without necessarily accepting belief in a supernatural reality or divine being. Religious practices like mindfulness and meditation can be experienced as advantageous or maybe necessary for human accomplishment without any mystical interpretation or reason. Spirituality in this context might be a matter of nurturing thoughts, emotions, words and actions that are in step with an idea that everything in the universe is jointly dependent” A modern mundane definition is as follows:

“Spirituality exists wherever we battle with the problems of how our lives fit into the greater blueprint. This is true when our questions never give way to categorical answers or lead to categorical practices like prayer or meditation. We encounter non secular issues every time we wonder where the universe comes from, why we are here, or what happens when we die. We also become spiritual when we become moved by values like beauty, love, or creativeness that appear to reveal a meaning or power beyond our visible world. A concept or practice is “spiritual” when it reveals our personal need to build a felt-relationship with the deepest meanings or powers ruling life.” (Definitions from Wikipedia Encyclopedia)

Divine definition of spirituality:

The Divine definition of spirituality, while embracing some of the same qualities as mundane humanism, such as love, compassion, patience, tolerance, compassion, contentment, responsibility, harmony, and a worry for others, goes further and is based on the grounds in the Bible of the decline of man that happened when Eve ate of the prohibited fruit in Genesis 3:6the result was sin entered the world and also death as the results of sin. Death not only included physical death but also spiritual death. Death is defined as a separation. Physical death is a separation of the spirit from the body while spiritual. Death is a separation of man’s spirit from the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit.

So in order to realize the full benefits of Christian growth and God’s promises of the Bible for eternal life, joy, peace, contentment and purpose in this life, it’s required to have a new connection with Almighty God which leads to having the indwelling of his Holy Spirit, which resides within our spirit.

God through the Holy Spirit then directs all of life thru sanctification, which is setting man aside from the general activities of sin and the flesh and repositioning him in the activities of the Devine nature of the Holy Spirit which is Love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, temperance and meekness (Galatians 5:16-22). It no longer becomes an act of reforming our ways but it is permitting the Holy Spirit to provide his ways in us. Then our help comes from God and not a self-help kind of growth as taught by Tony Robins as well as the AAA and most personal growth internet sites on the Internet.

I certainly don’t mean to belittle the good work that Tony Robbins, the AAA and secular personal improvement does. It is true that folk can become better human beings thru self-help. What I say is, Christian private growth places the focus on God’s indwelling Spirit and his work of change rather than our self effort, which of course is far better than nothing at all, but misses the stamp of what God can do.

The 1st responsibility of anyone who desires Christian personal development is to find out how to have a relationship with Our Lord God.

Conclusion:

No effort put into your private improvement is wasted, if it is a temporal approach or Devine approach. The difference it makes in the standard of life can’t be denied and indeed am able to decide the amount of success, purpose and contentment in life.
